Artistic Director of Traditional Arts Centre – Cai Bi Xia was invited by the Shanghai Theatre Academy to present a paper at the “2013 International Traditional Opera Conference”.
Ms Cai presented the thesis of “Innovative Teochew Opera of Singapore”.

The Traditional Arts Centre (Singapore) has been highly successful in training students in their pursuit of artistic excellence through its international programmes. Students will return with new knowledge, cultural understanding, maturity and lifelong friends from the host country. The overseas performance experience will help them develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world. Students from Xinmin Secondary School, trained by the Traditional Arts Centre, performed Huangmei Opera “Macbeth” at Tournon Sur Rhone – France on 28th July 2013 at the 14th International Shakespeare Festival.
